I am a big fan of the US primary system as a method for choosing a leader. But the Iowa system is bizarre, as this article details. I never realized that was how cacauses work. If Gephardt wins Iowa, that would be huge. A poll today has Dean ahead 30-23, but a lot can change in ten days. Personally, I think the race will come down to Dean or Clark, and I think Bush would have a far easily opponent in Dean. Polls have that race at anywhere from 8-22 points, meaning no one knows, other than at this point Bush is ahead. But Dean is largely unknown, so even that number is not that meaninful.
