Great idea!
Mark Pullen over at The Elementary Educator has pulled together a Student Bill of Rights that he says is in response to many teachers’ beginning of the year laying-down-of-the-law. It’s a great idea that has some excellent social studies tie-ins: what does every student’s right to be safe through the day mean for student interaction? I don’t agree with everything on the list, but it’s a fantastic starting point to generate some discussion of classroom dynamics.

6. All students have the right to be assessed based on improvement, not just raw performance.
